eNicheLister

Think about a niche you know about: Poker Chip collecting, the past twenty years of front yard Flamingos, Satellite Phones... whatever that is, we have a cool 'little' site ready to go for you. We call it Niche Lister 'cause we figure the nichier (is that a word?) the better, the more pin-pointed, absolutely easy to seperate the listing subject the better. The site does this:

Lists classifieds that can be sold as one time ads or as recurring ads, so somebody trying to sell that product can try and mold their sales strategy to what they want with their own preferred budget and with their own personal decision. How long they want it up and how much they want to spend is up to them (from the plans the Niche Lister Site owner allows). They'll be able to add as many pics of their item as they want (server space willing!)

Has a quick search by catagories, as well as by zip code area! (and it works unlike, hmmm.... who's that company, again... uh... EBAY?)

Has an advanced search, so you can really specialize what things you're looking for as a buyer, or what you think they are looking for as a seller.

Usual contact us, about us, privacy policy... yadda, yadda, all that boring stuff that all sites have... is of course included, and easily editable.

Whole manageable backend configurator so non-coders (pretty close to everyone that can fit in normal societal conversations) can use it and change content and feel in control!

Paypal ease of continual charging each month or one time transactions!
...and it's 90% open source, the other 10% we buy from others, which is just included in the packaged cost to you... the open source just makes it easy to find the geeks to work on it / fix it / turn it into the "Ferarri" of web sites... whatever.

This is so cool we run one ourselves. We seem to have an addiction to Toyota Land Cruisers so we thought, "hey that's a great idea" so here it is - basically a front end look of what one will look like so far close to outta' the box: <a href="http://listings.thelandcruiser.com" title="http://listings.thelandcruiser.com">http://listings.thelandcruiser.com</a> which is a Joomla based Site...

Have a look at: <a href="http://landcruiserlistings.com" title="http://landcruiserlistings.com">http://landcruiserlistings.com</a> or <a href="http://devbox.multihulltrader.com" title="http://devbox.multihulltrader.com">http://devbox.multihulltrader.com</a> to see our Drupal versions, which is really the way to go for future scalability.

We'll be putting another one up so you can play with it at demo.thelandcruiser.com, as well as let you into the backend ASAP. In the meantime, building ours up is without a doubt the sparkle in our eye. Sigh... the joy of creation!

REQUIREMENTS:
A Linux/BSD Unix/ or Mac OSX Apache Webserver (sorry Microsoft, it's true, we really really don't like you (add on as many 'really' adverbs as you like.)) (If you do not have one, we, acting as the court will provide you one... at a reasonable fee.)

PHP 4+ and a MySQL Database w/ Zend Optimizer running in your PHP.

A domain name - same deal, as far as we can try and get you one as well... but it's pretty easy at godaddy.com... like $9.00 a year. You could try just using an IP address as your domain, but what's the point unless you are trying to list something just sickly dorky or geeklike that may require compiling =-).

A PayPal account (Go ahead and get the business account) to collect the cash!
The personal needed to manage the site, look at it occasionally, and check your PayPal account to collect funds to transfer to your bank account...
